The Red Rock Casino is one of the local's favorite destinations in Las Vegas. With breathtaking views of the Red Rock Mountains and the Las Vegas Strip, Red Rock Casino has quickly fit right into its location in the heart of Summerlin.

This project required civil engineering services from Martin & Martin. With the development of a 68-acre site as a hotel/casino, spa, and convention center, the project consisted of 1,000 hotel rooms, 500-timeshare units, 90,000 sq. ft. of casino space, and 82,000 sq. ft. of meeting center, retail shops, restaurants, movie theaters, and an amphitheater. Also included was a 3,404 space parking garage and 350,000 sq. ft. of office space.

The scope of work included drainage analysis, grading design and all on-site utilities of water, sewer and storm drains. Martin & Martin participated in the subsequent phased expansions that included additional towers, casino space, and parking garages. Sanitary sewer design for the 68-acre site included approximately 1,000 l.f. of 6-inch sewer line, 4,500 l.f. of 8-inch sewer line and 1,000 l.f. of 10-inch sewer main.

Data was utilized from existing traffic studies for the undeveloped site to design roadway improvements for the surrounding streets. The design included increasing the flow capacity at several intersections and adding signalization to several intersections.

A drainage study that was conducted for the initial development of the site was updated as changes were made by the client to the site plan. The storm drainage design ranges from 8-inch area drains to 48-inch bee-hive structures, and curb inlets which function in both on-grade and sump conditions depending on locations.
